The bailiff handles the enforcement proceedings for cases that come under the jurisdiction of the Subordinate Courts.

Section 14 and Section 15 of the Subordinate Courts Act (Chapter 6) provide the duties and special powers of bailifs.

The execution of the warrants may be executed between the hours of 9.00am and 4.00 pm during week-days.

In executing the warrant, Subordinate Court bailiff may be accompanied by a uniformed police officer, or by a Court staff, or by both, to assist him in making the attachment. The judgment creditor may also accompany the Subordinate Court bailiff.
