STARTING A CIVIL CLAIM​
RESPONDING TO A CIVIL CLAIM​
A civil suit claim up to BND 50,000.00 can be filed with the Magistrates’ Court.
Plaintiff may initiate a civil claim in the Magistrates’ Court by filing a Writ of Summons and Statement of Claim with the Magistrates’ Court Civil Registry.
Defendant who has been served with the Writ of Summons must respond to the writ.

MEDIATION​​
​TRIAL
Parties are required to appear before a Senior Magistrate or Magistrate on the fixed mention date.
Parties may seek the assistance of a neutral person (a mediator) to discuss their case and reach an amicable settlement.
Trial is held for any disputed claim. 


​​​APPEALS​
JUDGMENT DEBTOR SUMMONS AND EXECUTION PROCEEDINGS​
COSTS, FILING FEES & STATUTORY INTEREST​
FORMS AND TEMPLATES​
Any party who does not agree with the court’s decision may appeal to the High Court.
Judgment Creditor may apply to enforce the judgment order against the Judgment Debtor.
​Successful party may apply to the court for the unsuccessful party to reimburse for the cost incurred throughout bringing or defending the claim.
